This fully a-synchronous, online module is for students studying the LLM Distance Learning degrees. It is not available for students studying the LLM on-campus degrees: if you are studying your LLM on campus, then please register for the on campus module. This fully a-synchrnous, online module focuses on developing literacy as practised in Law. The module introduces you to the academic and professional skills expected of you at LLM level. Critical thinking, which is central to effective argumentation in academic and professional legal communication, is developed through different methodologies. Legal texts are analysed from a linguistic perspective and focus is placed on raising your awareness and skill with regard to expression, structure, and argumentation in English within the discipline of law.
