Aimed at students whose education has been mainly in a language other than English who wish to develop their ability to communicate effectively in English in a wide range of situations with a focus on speaking and listening. The module will build on the abilities and competencies covered in English in Social Settings 1 but attendance in the first semester is not a prerequisite. The second semester course will further refine existing competence and continue to develop fluency and accuracy in speaking, as well as the ability to understand English spoken at native-speaker speed.
