This module introduces students to a range of theoretical perspectives relevant to managing equality and diversity in contemporary organisations, and aims to equip them with knowledge and skills to create inclusive workplace environments. The module will first introduce students to various dimensions of diversity like gender, age, race and so on, and explore why inclusion matters and how it relates to business and organisational success. We will then examine a range of theories that help explain how different labour market and organisational processes may produce and reproduce inequalities. The final part of the module will consider the importance of leadership in creating organizational inclusion and explore how to design and deliver effective diversity initiatives in organisations.
