Clinical chemistry involves the measurement of biochemical markers as a key element in the assessment of the function and dysfunction of systems, organs and tissues used by both clinicians and biomedical scientists. In order to successfully diagnose your patient, a variety of samples are taken and analysed in clinical practice that are critical not only for diagnosis, but also central for monitoring subsequent treatment. The module will introduce the student to the nature of samples taken and the initial interpretation of aberrant and normal values.
