This year-long module is designed for learners who have already reached an intermediate to upper-intermediate level in the target language (approximately B1+ to low B2 CEFR). Over two semesters, you will progress to a secure B2 CEFR level, developing the skills and confidence to communicate fluently and appropriately across a wide range of social, academic and professional contexts. Teaching takes place in interactive small-group sessions centred on active participation. Through engaging, task-based activities, you will further develop your abilities in listening, speaking, interaction, mediation, reading and writing, while increasing the sophistication and flexibility of your language use. You will communicate in contexts such as study and work, professional communication, media and current affairs, and social and cultural debates. You will also develop the skills needed to engage with introductory academic materials, including summarising information, presenting arguments, and producing structured spoken and written texts. Alongside communicative development, you will refine your grammatical and lexical control, expand your vocabulary and idiomatic expression, and deepen your intercultural awareness through critical engagement with the cultures and societies in which the language is spoken.
