This module provides an introduction to the materials used in engineering design, classes of materials, understanding material properties and how this relates to the structure and how properties depend upon the processing route employed. The module will provide a framework for a suitable selection of materials developing problem solving skills and team working skills in applications that are relevant to aerospace, mechanical and general engineering.
