Browse Hierarchy QHE4106: Generative Coding for Creativity
This module provides an introduction to generative systems through creative coding. Students will locate this creativity in the history of computer-generated art/design and understand the role of algorithms to generate complex systems. Students will learn how code can be used to create their visual outputs, initially through exploring features in programming languages or libraries designed to support creativity. By then incorporating physics principles, students will add complexity to their systems, through e.g. emergence, autonomy and fractals. Coding basic physics principles then allows students to add complexity to their systems, for example emergence, autonomy and fractals.
