This module provides an introduction to programming using C and C++, with examples designed to show how computers can be used to solve practical problems in a wide range of different fields. In particular, we cover the procedural features of these languages, such as variables, arrays, loops, branching statements and functions, before moving on to consider object-oriented programming techniques (classes, objects, encapsulation and inheritance). Examples come from mathematics, the physical sciences, finance, and other fields. Only available to students in the School of Mathematical Sciences.
