Browse Hierarchy MTH4400: Applied Calculus
This is a first course in differential and integral calculus whose aim is to provide the basic techniques and background from calculus for the pure and applied mathematics modules that follow. The first half of the module develops the concepts and techniques of differentiating and integrating, with supporting work on algebra, coordinate transformations and curve sketching. The second half introduces infinite series including power series and develops techniques of differential and integral calculus in the multivariate setting. Applications from a variety of settings including physical sciences, business and finance are also explored.
