This module introduces students to the basic elements that make up the range of legal systems in Asia including their histories, diversity, complexity and differences with Western legal systems. Through a study of a selection of legal systems in Asia, the course will enable to students to examine certain legal topics and explore how they compare with each other. These may include aspects of constitutional, criminal, civil and family law systems.
