Browse Hierarchy IHS6023: Applied Sciences for Prehospital Medicine
Students will have an opportunity to apply basic sciences to the prehospital patient. Subjects included are applied anatomy, pharmacotoxicology, applied physiology, and applied haematology. The predominant form of teaching for this module will be through case studies, cadaveric prosection related to prehospital medicine and through lectures. Students will focus on the scientific principles underpinning such subjects as human physiology at the accident scene, traumatic coagulopathy, and cardiac physiology related to advanced resuscitation interventions.
