This module will focus on the patho-physiology of trauma to the head, spinal column, spinal cord and the central and peripheral nervous system. It will provide you with the knowledge to critically evaluate head and neurological injuries. Non-operative and operative treatment will be discussed in order for you to fully understand the options available and help to refine decision making skills in order to instigate the most appropriate treatment. We will also discuss ethical issues surrounding traumatic head and spinal cord injuries.
