You will discuss the categories of cosmeceuticals, and compare and contrast their active ingredients and activity profiles. You will develop an in-depth knowledge and demonstrate critical appraisal skills of literature on biochemical properties and actions. We will discuss the active entities individually and examine them including, antioxidants, peptides, growth factor compounds and combination products. You will evaluate the effectiveness of cosmeceuticals by understanding how they are scientifically tested, such as by polymerase chain reactions (PCR).
