This module introduces students to the major issues and thinkers in modern political thought. The contributions of individual thinkers will be presented one after another in successive weeks and comparisons will be pursued more and more every week as new thinkers are introduced. Students will become conversant with the development of Modern political thought, the main themes, questions and debates that have shaped political thinking. They will acquire a solid grounding in the origins and development of, and the differences among, the various philosophical and ideological traditions that have shaped modern politics
