Browse Hierarchy GEG6154: Healthy City, Sick Cities
The opening decade of the 21st century was a defining moment in world history, with more people than ever before living in urban areas. Although the forces driving this urban transition are beyond the module¿s scope, the uneven health effects of life in the `sick city¿ are not. We will explore how urbanization has been reframed as an urban health crisis, consider examples from AIDS to Ebola, obesity to environmental pollution, and question what is being done to promote health in the city.
