This module is focussed around a residential fieldtrip to the delta cities, such as Rotterdam, and coast of NW Europe. This coastline is highly populated, low-lying and at risk from sea level rise, storm surges and surface flooding. This module will introduce students to a range of coastal threats associated with climate change and develop an understanding of key coastal processes. During the fieldtrip students will explore a range of restoration and management schemes to understand how delta cities and coasts can adapt to, and mitigate the impacts of climate change by working with nature and through innovative urban planning.
