Browse Hierarchy GEG5000U: Geography, Environment and Development Work Placement
This module offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience through placements with external organisations relevant to their degree programme. Students apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, developing professional, analytical, and communication skills. Placements may include work in environmental consultancy, local government, museums and heritage, conservation, development, or sustainability sectors. The module involves reflective assessment in the form of a learning journal completed during the placement and an interview following the placement. These enable students to reflect on their expectations for and experiences of their placements and relate them to their future career aspirations.
