This module examines the intersections of film, screen, and media studies with the emergent fields of ecocinema, eco-media, and animal studies. We explore the historical, formal, political, and ethical dimensions of how the natural world, human and nonhuman animals, and ecological systems are represented, mediated, and imagined across a range of moving image forms - from cinema and television to digital media, video art, and online platforms.
