This module teaches how concepts from core physics can be used to predict the behaviour of, design, synthesise, process, and characterise low dimensional objects such as nanoparticles and thin films. Students will be challenged to explore the future prospects of nanoscience and nanotechnology, which are expected to lead to functional engineered devices and products. Students will learn some of the most important industrial applications of this technology including but not restricted to energy conversion.
