Browse Hierarchy EMS515U: Introduction to Spacecraft Dynamics
This module will provide the pre-requisite knowledge and skills to students intending to pursue the subject of Spacecraft Mission Analysis and Design to a greater depth. Students will learn the basics of Vector Kinematics and Kinetics, the definition and characterisation of attitude dynamics and attitude kinematics, dynamics of rigid body motion including motion in a central force field, the Keplerian description of orbital motion and its application to the dynamics and manoeuvring of spacecraft in a real interplanetary environment including the effects of perturbation forces and the basics of Hamiltonian mechanics.
