Material to be covered may include: the economic history of major periods of innovation; the intellectual history of AI research; economic theories of the interaction between humans and technology; the macroeconomic impact of AI on growth and the distribution of income; its effects on the markets for labour, education, and health care; its broader socio-political and cultural consequences; and the use of AI tools in economics and finance research.
