This module provides an introduction to using design to communicate data. As such it utilises students scientific skills to explore data through statistics as well as their design skills and creative storytelling to guide viewers. Students will learn how to design data visualisations, using graphical design as well as data skills, evaluate, then code using an appropriate language. The course will also cover data collection, including data ethics. Other creative uses of data, including data art, will also be explored. A review of graphical design principles will be reinforced.
