Population Oral Health and Evidence Based Dentistry module will span across the three years of the BSc Dental Therapy and Hygiene Programme. The module will have shared learning with evidence-based dentistry. Dental public health is the science and practice of preventing oral diseases, promoting oral health, and improving quality of life through population-based approaches. The module will cover structured teaching on prevention (communication and OHI) in line with GDC learning outcomes; common epidemiological study designs, how to create structured questions and search commonly-used medical databases.
