This module will expose students to a variety of chemical experiments of a more technically demanding nature than those previously encountered. Students will gain experience in a range of analytical methods, synthetic procedures, instrumental techniques and computational techniques. Students will perform detailed analyses of chemical compounds, mixtures and data to determine chemical structure, composition, concentrations and to select and apply the most appropriate methods/techniques. Students will also need to be familiar and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations that apply in laboratory settings.
