Browse Hierarchy CAR5001: QProjects Micro-internships
This module is designed to enable you to apply your academic knowledge to a real-life project whilst developing your professional skills, CV and networks. You will apply and be placed in a business or charity to complete a discreet project for the organisation. Projects will take place over 10-11 weeks during term time and you will be expected to dedicate either 2 half days or one full day a week to your placement during that period of time. Someone from the host organisation will act as your project supervisor. The module will start with pre-project training which focuses on key professional skills, followed by an induction at your placement which will include a thorough introduction to your project by your supervisor at the host organisation. During the following 10 weeks you will undertake the project and receive support from your colleagues at the host organisation as well as guidance from Careers & Enterprise staff if needed. In the final weeks of the module you will book in for a one-to-one session with a Careers Consultant who will ensure that you can apply this experience to future applications and interviews.
