This module introduces students to the fundamentals of finance and aims to develop an understanding of where the finance function fits within a business organization. It will introduce students to the critical knowledge of the time value of money, in a sense, that why the value of money depends on the time of its receipts or payments. Given the current state of the global economy where financial markets are highly integrated, it is imperative to know the functioning of financial markets and institutions and different financial instruments being traded. The theoretical approaches in determining financial securities value as well as assessing risk will be examined. This module will be offered to the B.Sc. Business Management (NN12) program as an elective in Year 2, Semester A.
