This is a core module for all students enrolled on the BSc Accounting undergraduate programme and counts as an exemption against an ICAEW certificate level module, the pass mark is 50%. This level 4 module will provide the necessary foundation for Accountancy level 5 modules. This module will introduce students to the fundamental concepts of finance, and will develop an understanding of why the finance function is crucial for a business organization. It will briefly introduce the currency exchange rates and explain why the value of money depends on the time when receiving or paying cash flows. Given the importance of finance in the highly integrated financial markets and in the global economy, it is necessary to understand the functioning of financial markets and financial instruments that are traded in the markets.
