This module provides an introduction to bioinformatics, focussing specifically on the analysis of DNA sequence data. Lectures cover the bioinformatics methods, algorithms and resources used for tasks such as, sequence assembly and gene finding, analysis of genomic variance among populations, genome wide association studies and prediction of gene structure and function. Practical exercises are used to help you gain experience with relevant existing bioinformatics tools, data formats and databases.
