The Examination comprises of four sections; two written papers named paper 1 and paper 2, an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), a Structured Clinical Reasoning (SCR) Examination and a Selected Study Component. Section A comprises subject based structured answer type questions in paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 comprises of four SAQs. Paper 2 comprises of five SAQs. The paper 1 written exam is based on the following group of subjects: Public Health & Evidence Based Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, Professionalism, Teamwork & Social Responsibility/Special Care Dentistry and Periodontology. The paper 2 written examination is based on the following group of subjects: Dental Materials, Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery and Endodontics. Section B comprises an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Section C comprises a Structured Clinical Reasoning (SCR) Examination of one adult (multidisciplinary) and one paediatric case. Section D is a Selected Study Component (SSC) and comprises one piece of coursework. All relevant Learning Outcomes will be addressed in this examination format. Weightings - Section A: Paper 1 - 20% weighting, Paper 2 - 25% weighting = 45% (Each subject SAQ contributes 5%) Section B: Objective Structured Clinical Examination - 20% weighting, Section C: Structured Clinical Reasoning Examination - 30% weighting (Adult case 15%, Paediatric case 15%), Section D: SSC Project Coursework - 5% weighting
